In 2016 I started wondering if I could make a full time income from freelance writing.
I had been writing on a part time basis for five years after taking an online course focusing on feature writing for magazines and newspaper at The Australian Writers’ Centre.
Within a week of finishing the course, I had an article commissioned.
I was hooked. I was getting paid to do what I loved.
Over the past six years my work has been published regularly in numerous Australian and international digital and print publications including The Guardian, Sunday Life, The Age/The Sydney Morning Herald, Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, delicious., The Saturday Paper, Aspire, SBS Life, QantasLink, World Nomads, Good Food, Modern Farmer, Dumbo Feather, Peppermint, Essential Kids, Essential Baby, Jetstar magazine and more.
In 2017 I decided to stop wondering if I could freelance full time.
The Freelancer’s Year teaches you how to earn a great living from freelance writing – I’ve got interviews with seasoned freelancers, editors and content marketing managers, as well as heaps of strategies to help freelance writers and journalists write what they love and earn what they’re worth.
