I've had my byline appear in The New York Times, Vogue Living and The Sydney Morning Herald!

I felt completely out of my depth contacting editors but Lindy provided helpful and effective pitching advice, which I still refer to each and every week.

This helped me realise the real hook within each story idea.

Since then, my byline has appeared in a range of new digital and print publications (like Vogue Living, The New York Times and The Sydney Morning Herald) most of which I would have been too scared to pitch without Lindy’s strategic advice.

I've been published in The Guardian, the New York Post, Business Insider, Yahoo! Life and Today.com!

Roughly a year ago, I was ready to pack in my copywriting business after almost a decade in the game.

I was tired of hunting for work. Sick of chasing clients who didn’t pay their invoices. Worried about AI and my professional future.

That’s when I decided to do  Foundations of Freelance.

I realised that I could diversify and write editorial content again, as well as corporate copywriting and content writing.

In the past 12 months, I’ve been published in Guardian Australia, Mamamia, the New York Post, Kidspot.com.au, ESCAPE, Business Insider, Yahoo! Life, Take 5, Today.com and more.

Sometimes it feels surreal seeing my byline in these publications.

I’m so glad that I didn’t sell out when things were at their worst.

I've been published by Australian Geographic!

I cannot tell you how excited I was to see my story published in Australian Geographic – such a prestigious publication!

Lindy not only helped me brainstorm publications that might be interested in the story idea, but she also gave some valuable feedback to refine my pitch to a different targeted publication, after the initial pitch was rejected.

During the writing process, Lindy was in the background supporting me with encouraging messages.

If you’re lacking confidence with pitching and wondering if you can write for your dream publications, having Lindy’s expertise and insight makes such a difference.

My dream came true!

Frequently Asked Questions

From the time you enrol you’ll have immediate access to all the modules so you can begin working through the lessons whenever you want. Access to the community is ongoing.

Most students are able to complete the program in around five weeks, spending two or three hours each week going through the content and implementing the lessons.

Others might take a few extra months to work through the program.

There really is no right or wrong amount of time to do this course.

The best time frame is the one that suits you and your current situation.

But I do recommend that to get the most out of the course set aside at least a couple of hours each week to go through the program, complete the worksheets and carry out the activities.

You’ll have ongoing access to the community and course materials (and any updates that get added in the future).

This course is aimed at people who want to write for magazines, newspapers or online.

Usually you will be new to the writing/journalism industry or you may be an established corporate writer, author, PR professional or in-house journalist who wants to break into feature writing.

If you’re not sure if it’s a good fit for you, email me (li***@th****************.com) and we can chat – pressure free.

It’s always good to look at xe.com first to work out the exchange rate. Do note though that the rate shown is usually a little off, simply because it depends on your bank’s conversion rate and if they charge a currency conversion fee.

If you’re keen to know the exact rate, contact the bank associated with your card to find out the current conversion rate.

While Write Earn Thrive helps you scale your income by landing high-paying corporate clients, this course teaches you how to break into writing feature articles for magazines or newspapers.

There’s no overlap at all with the Write Earn Thrive material because the Foundations of Freelance Writing course is purely focused on learning how to analyse publications, find ideas and craft compelling pitches that editors love so you can write feature articles for magazines and newspapers (and online publications).

When you go to pay and fill in all your details, the conversion will happen once you’ve paid. It’ll be the exchange rate of your banking institution.

I always look at xe.com first to work out the exchange rate, but that’s always a little off simply because it depends on your bank’s conversion rate and if they charge a currency conversion fee.

If you’re keen to know the exact rate, contact the bank associated with your card to find out the current conversion rate.

If you’ve worked through some of the course and haven’t gained any value from it (or just don’t think the course is for you), I’ll happily refund your payment minus a $50 admin fee.

Refunds must be requested within 7 days of the course starting.

No refunds are provided after the first 7 days, and I do not provide pro-rata refunds for cancelled accounts. After the initial refund period expires, I will continue to process any remaining payments (if you have selected a payment plan option).

Each weekday I’m available in our private community (you’ll get the details once you enrol) to answer and help with any challenges you’re facing. Current students have commented on how engaged, active and helpful the community is.

All the information and strategies I go through can be used throughout the world. My articles have been published throughout the world, including in the USA, UK, Canada, Singapore and more.

These strategies are based on techniques that I’ve used but also that my coaching students have used and they’ve been based in countries such as the USA, Canada, UK, Spain, France and the Philippines.

At the moment, the private  community is hosted on Facebook. If you are not an active member on Facebook, you can still enrol in the course, but you just won’t have access to the online community component.
